27052015 Dinner at Carpe Diem, Empire Damansara

Looking for a new place to have dinner isn't an easy task, not especially if I want to satisfy my taste buds while at the same time, ensuring that Min is alright with the selection. However, I figured since she likes Korean food a lot, she might be keen on trying out a cafe that specializes in fusion of Korean-Italian food. Carpe Diem is known for this!

Korean Special Pizza (medium size)
RM28.90 nett

It's cheesy and nice!
Though quite pricey, but it's really good!
If it's a little spicy, I think it'll bump up the taste by 2 notches =P

Korean Ais Kacang (Pat Bing Su)
RM13.90

It was a little melted before it reached our table, but it still tasted awesome!
Love the variety of fruits in the Bingsu here!
Apparently, the machine had some issue. We were given discount for this.
How nice!

Dragon Fuit Juice
RM9.90

There's a promotion: If you order the drinks with the main course, there'll be discount.
For this drink, we got RM1.90 off the bill.

The place is cooling and cozy. However, it's a little difficult to locate, if you're not familiar with Empire Damansara (this place is weirdly designed, you'll know when you're there).

The service is good, although if it gets any busier than a few customer, you might experience a little slow in attention. The Korean boss and lady boss are very accommodating. Love their warmth!

The price might be stiff for most people, especially if you're on a budget. But if it's once in a blue moon, I think it's pretty worth it for a change of taste. Their pizza is a must to try!

14022015 Mum's Birthday Eat Out

Yup it's the 14th February, we all know what day that it globally, and it also happens to be my mum's birthday =) I'm my momma's boy, just so you know. So on this glorious day, I dedicate the whole day to her (also happens it's a weekend, and I'm not working =P)

Brought my mum back to SS2's Korea House for dinner. If you love Korean food and you haven't been there, give it a try! I don't have a share in the place, but I've been there a few times prior to this visit, and I still am steadfast with the saying "Must come back again"

I like the environment and service a lot =) They're attentive, quick and responsive. The taste is definitely worth paying for, although it does break a budge but it's not super expensive. You really get the taste of authentic Korean food, according to my sources =P You'll love the Pork Belly, and you'll like the variety of side dishes - it's different every time (check out the pictures below)! I'm pretty cautious with where I dine (unless I don't have a choice) so if I can leave a place (with a desire to return or revisit the place) with a smile each time, it means it's worth it.

Samgyeopsal (Pork Belly)~~!!

Gyeran Jjim (Steamed Egg) - this was on the house.
This is simply delicious!
I think it is a new menu so they were giving out to customers to try =D

Family's treating by their one and only, VERY ONG =P

During dinner, I promised my family that I'd bring them for some of the best shaved-ice desserts (aka bingsu) I know. We headed to OW:L Espresso (we're back again and you know what that means too =P Click here to check out my previous post about this place)

Yet to try their coffee-bingsu but their bingsu's are worth the travel to try (again and again)! I don't think I can ever find another place that offers shaved-ice dessert this smooth and not so sweet (it's dessert but you don't have to feel overly guilty about it either! =P). There's many Koreans visiting this place as well; I suspect the person is charge is a Korean too, but I haven't got a chance to speak with him personally. Must find an opportunity one day to do so =D

Special menu - Mango Cheese Bingsu!
Yea, we got not one, but TWO (2) regular-sized bingsu.
Large = RM29
Regular = RM16
Originally, we order a large one, but they got our order wrong and offered us two regular-sized instead.
*we're in luck!*
How awesome is that??

This mango cheese is a must-try if you're a a fan of bingsu and also cheese lover! =P
The combination is simply awesome!

01022015 Dinner at Ko Hyang, The Gardens

It's the first day of February! Ahh, so quickly did January just passed us by! Went to do shopping for the team at Aeon in Mid Valley Megamall. I always wondered what will happen if I didn't volunteer to buy the food, but in order to find out that answer, is to take the risk of losing at least 1 month's worth of refreshment for the team. That is one thing I cannot afford to let happen =)

But guess what I found?

Moving on, for dinner, I decided to have Korean meal. Honestly, I've not had so many Korean meals previously. But my makan buddy, Min is really into it, and thank God she knows what to recommend to a person, like me, who doesn't eat spicy food.

Taste wise - It's alright, but I think there's much room for improvement. Perhaps the other dishes with Kimchi are good, but the one I ate was rather watery in its sauce. What I saw on TV, and papers is definitely way thicker than this. Perhaps it's just me, but you might want to consider ordering other dishes instead of it, to save yourself the time.

Environment wise - It's rather cramp, so if you're looking for a comfty place, this is not a place you wanna be at. Only because it's a small lot, but they've set up many tables and chairs to maximize the seating for that they can have as many customers as they could. But it's clean and the waiters are rather punctual in their service so it's alright.

Price wise - I think it's about the same as most Korean meals. So there's nothing much to compare or say on this. If you're on a budget meal, this is will not be an option for you.

07012015 Dinner with Newly Wedded Chee Yung & Pauline at Sopoong, Quill City Mall

It's less than a week since their wedding, I'm already seeing Chee Yung & Pauline at work (yes, they're my colleagues and my seniors too). We all work in KL, but at different parts of town. However, there's a new mall that was recently opened, Quill City Mall, and it's pretty darn close by my work place.

So, the couple decided to catch a movie at the mall and I joined them for dinner. Was I the lightbulb? I sure am! (In case if you're wondering what lightbulb means, it's taken (translated) directly from Cantonese word, which actually means 3rd Party Person). If not because of work which I had to attend immediately after dinner, I would have gladly joined them for a movie too #behpaiseh

We dined at the Korean restaurant, Soopong. It's busier during lunch time, but a little more subtle during dinner. We were glad because of the environment, we were able to catch up, chat and laughed. The service was good too =)

Udon & 1/2 Gimbap
RM16.90
It's pretty decent, and due to the way it is served, it remained very warm for a long time ;)
(I can't take spicy food, so this was the only menu that I could order =/ )
Check out their FB page as it's updated regularly

After dinner, I went back to my office and continued my work. Some of my colleagues are still at the office when I got back. Whilst waiting for some computer operation to complete, I took the chance to change my phone's screen protector. Had to sacrifice my existing one, to put on a new one - I'm using tempered glass type screen protector.

Hulk smash!
